At the very edge of the Mallee desert, Jeparit is located 370km from Melbourne, 400km from Adelaide and 270km from Mildura. Within 30 minutes, you can reach one of the 4 regional towns that surround our wonderful town. Jeparit Primary School is in a great position for our residents to explore locally or afar!
Just like a postcard, Jeparit sits on the banks of the full and flowing Wimmera river which is popular for locals and holiday makers for kayaking, swimming, boating, skiing & fishing. Our school ensures that we have and maintain the equipment to ensure that our students are able to make the most of their natural environment.
Within the town of Jeparit there are many active sporting clubs including tennis, golf, football, netball and lawn bowls. There is a thriving social life for someone who is willing to become involved and become a part of the community.
Rich in history, Jeparit’s claim to fame is being the birth place of the longest serving Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies as well as the Pioneer’s Museum that attracts many tourists and is open for our students to use as a local resource for teaching and learning.

This is a tourism video for our shire. Jeparit kids got to act in the video.
